LA
TANIA |
 |
For the coming season 2011-2012, the resort will open on Saturday, December 10th.
La
Tania, the last ski area in the 3 Valleys to be created.
Work began in 1989 to prepare for the Winter Olympic
Games held in Albertville in 1992.
The idea at the start was intended to offer skiers more
accommodation and to welcome the spectators to watch
the diverse action unwinding in the area, and for the
press to write about the Olympic teams.
A magnificent forest surrounds the village. The trees add immensely to the amenity of La Tania, as does a centre without cars and the fact that all the pistes arrive in the centre of the village close to the chalets..
La Tania has always been very well known for welcoming families and children and for keeping the children safe.
This small, traditional resort is beautifully maintained for residents and visitors. It joins with its neighbours Courcheval and Meribel to make up the 3 Valleys ski area (read about the history of the 3 Valleys), the largest
ski area in the World with 200 lifts, 330 pistes and
over 600 km of ski runs.
