The “Via Ferrata Roc de Tovière” in Val d’Isère, a beautiful via ferrata that I climbed on Tuesday, August 11th.

I have really loved the Via Ferratas that I have climbed this summer.

Practical information:

Departure altitude: 1795m
Arrival altitude: 2200m
Elevation gain: 405m
Distance: 1400m (0,87miles)
Difficulty: 2 parts: B / D – TD / ED (French Grading System)

Description of the route:

Opened in summer 1998, the Via Ferrata Roc de Tovière offers courses for all levels.
The first part, ideal for children outlines the sport with a few slabs air, vacuum, a bridge crossing and the bonus of a nice stroll in the forest for the return.
The second part has more equipment and provides greater difficulty for beginners. It combines a 750 m cable and the crossing of two bridges.
For experts, there is a more demanding course of chaining pillars, slabs, bridges, climbs and descents. The return is by pastures. .
